Passing my lens so far this summer...

This summer has been a busy one so far. Flying by almost in a blur! Fireworks, camp fires, farmers markets, getting out to meet great new artists and producers, photography, writing, wire wrapping, and beautiful beaches all mixed in with amazing times with family & friends. Last day of March 2011

What an amazing day we had here in Nova Scotia today! Spring is here. Although it was a bit frosty this morning, what glorious sun! A short walk in the woods by a small river in Concession, NS brought me to my photograph of the day.

A fallen tree reflected in the running water, framed by the bare branches hanging overhead. Soon all will be bursting with new buds and leaves of green. I also spent a few minutes on the beach in Belliveau Cove, another wonderful spot. While enjoying a relaxing stroll along the boardwalk by the sea, I watched clam diggers looking for bar clams.

Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium, added to a glass mix prior to melting. The amount usually varies from trace levels to about 2% by weight uranium. Uranium glass also fluoresces bright green under ultraviolet light. Hand picked beach glass from the shores of Nova Scotia.

...it runs all the way from Halifax to Yarmouth" - I thought to myself - So? I don't need to know that...
