Last day of March 2011

What an amazing day we had here in Nova Scotia today! Spring is here. Although it was a bit frosty this morning, what glorious sun! A short walk in the woods by a small river in Concession, NS brought me to my photograph of the day.

A fallen tree reflected in the running water, framed by the bare branches hanging overhead. Soon all will be bursting with new buds and leaves of green. I also spent a few minutes on the beach in Belliveau Cove, another wonderful spot. While enjoying a relaxing stroll along the boardwalk by the sea, I watched clam diggers looking for bar clams.

Despite Hurricane Earl, I met this wonderful group - 

 Incendia Motus - Hula hoopers, dancers, musicians, artists, fire breathers & fire dancers. Very fun uplifting bunch of people who love to play with fire! 

Incendia Motus is a professional fire crew for hire with a 100% safety record we are perfect for any event big or small. We have custom shows that we make to your specifications.

We are often asked to do day time shows and yes we will still perform with fire even tho it is not nearly as cool so we make the fire bigger aLOT BIGGER.

Cant have fire indoors bummer that's fine we also perform LED light shows, stilt walkers for meet and greats. along with other circus performing acts ( Ask about circus performances )

An amazing charcoal drawing by Jamie MacKay that was pulled recently by facebook. 

Many facebook users made this picture their profiled picture in protest.

"Vanishing Cream"

The piece is entitled "Vanishing Cream".

Jamie's intent with this piece is to portray the concept that society in general has an obsession with beauty and with "fixing" what may not be broken at all. It focuses on the consequences of seeking the unattainable public perception of beauty, thereby losing sight of who we really are. The image was meant to capture this "melting" or "dissolving" of one's true self in the vain search of this unattainable perfection that society dictates to the masses.
